Consider using art, wall hangings & rugs to break up the color! You could also use Walnut Acoustic Panels or dividers. I agree that I wouldn't change it and I do think the floor looks pretty good in your photos!

What a lovely space! agree with leaving the beautiful wood as is. i do think some large pieces on the walls would be nice.

You might want to look up some old posts from "pipdog" who remodeled a MCM house in the LA area. Probably around 8 years ago ... not sure if her posts can still be searched.

I think that the generic looking tile floor should be replaced. There are some very nice terrazzo-look porcelains available now.

Google "Eichler paneling" to get some ideas on how to love the paneling. It would be unfortunate to **** it up.

Take photos once you move in of the specific rooms and you'll get more appropriate advice about floors.

Looking at the panelling a little closer I think I see some signs of fading ( where previous owner had artwork hanging ) Am I correct? If so I think I would try to restore the pannelling rather than painting or covering it up. Once that’s done I think it will be a stunning room.

@K Laurence — there’s quite a bit of bleaching from the sun where pictures used to hang. I wasn’t sure refinishing was an option. Would that be a a light sand and a restain?

Refinishing veneer like that takes an expert. You can easily sand through a veneer. All the old finish has to be removed, or stain cannot penetrate the wood. BIG project that needs an expert.

I like to choose the color I like the most given current finish technology. That means water-based urethane that does not yellow or orange the wood like the oil based used in the past. I would not choose paneling in the color pictured. It looks like the kitchen has been updated already with non mcm white. I'd drywall the paneled walls and install a light European Oak flooring.

Try to figure out how it’s finished (is topcoat poly?) before you do anything. You might just need to wipe on tung oil.
