How and where would you add an accent color?

That is my question. No space for island ; so how do I break up the continuous cabinet color?

I'd do dark lowers on that whole side. My choice would be Navy or Black Watch for some interest.

Wallpaper the backsplash except behind the stove which could have a stainless panel added instead. Temporary wallpaper costs very little to experiment with.

You could do a new countertop in white or a darker color for more contrast to the brown.

What color are the cabinets going to be? If you don't put a panel on the frig that will break up that wall more. Also consider having some glass door cabinets - only if what is stored in them is attractive. I just don't like the two color look except when it's an island. Seems kind of trendy to me. But if you expect to live in this house a while and you like it, then go for it. Your kitchen, your money. :-)

Accent is a color just for the sake of adding color is a mistake. Maybe change out the backsplash? The countertops? The hardware as well to a stainless steel?

I didn’t have the room to say total rehab; but same layout; cabinets will be light wood tone with slight detail; tile removed; counter lowered to cabinet height and quartz tops ; not sure of backsplash and/ or tile

I think I would have kept the cabinets and just restained them gray. Be careful you don't end up with less than what you started with.

Or kept the cabinets and created some contrasting elements. to make the space more interesting

Tuscan was not the style that came to mind when seeing the kitchen. European surely but not Tuscan

The profile isn't particularly heavy, but it's glazed to accent it. You might consider having them professionally painted. But that's a big job and it might be more effective to just re-door.

First thing I'd do is remove the panel from the fridge and replace with stainless. Then I'd replace the wood hood cover with stainless. You might find that is enough to break up the wall-o-wood.

Well, Tuscany is in Europe, isn’t it?😉 😂 Anyway, I don’t think there is a “European style”…..every corner has their own style, and many European kitchens (at the least many I’ve seen) are very sleek and modern. (I lived in Europe from birth to almost 21 years of age.)

Tuscan is an American-made up style. You won't find any kitchens in Italy that are "Tuscan".

Ditch the corner appliance garage. Seeing more backslasph there will help break up the intensity of cabinet color as will getting a fridge without a panel. Are the cabinets to the far left of the sink also going to sit on the counter? Again, if they were uppers and lowers with a peak of backsplash, they would break up the colors.

Will you still have a full pantry to the right of the your fridge. It makes a ton of sense storage wise, but having uppers and lowers instead would help break up the monolith with more backsplash. Your toe kick looks extremely shallow and adds to the feeling that it is just one big wall of color. And yes, get a hood that is some kind of metal or painted metal.

What color will your new cabinets be?

I'm no fan of two toned cabinets. They just look trendy and random to me.

I have zero photoshop skills and am hardly saying to use these colors, but just to give you an ideal of how more backsplash and no matching fridge nor hood would break things up.
