I grow everyhting in pots... by necessity. Anything I can grow as a vine up on a trellis I do because it saves valuable room. My cucumbers and squashes will have a trellis.

I guess it comes down to: how small are these gardens; and, what do you want.

If you want zucchini, go for it. Some here passionately hate zucchini but they don't have to grow it if they don't want to.

I don't know why "too many" is a problem, just eat the best, compost the rejects, they grow so fast

By dwarf, do you mean bush? I love a bush zucchini!!! My favorite is 'Black Beauty', but I also tried a variety called 'Bush' last year that was nice too.

There are specific dwarf zucchini. They are bush habit plants but even smaller. I don't know what is available in the US but here they are sold as 'patio' varieties. FWIW I've never grown any cultivar which wasn't a bush form.

Went ahead and bought one. It's called bush baby and you're supposed to pick at 4-8". We'll see if that happens! Anyway, I add zucchini to my blueberry bran muffins to give us a little extra, so if I keep on top of things I can grate some up to add to the muffins, soups and stuff.
