We had our hearts set on LeBlanc or Mont Blanc quartzite but we’re very concerned about potential adhesive bleeding and water staining. We’re not gamblers so we opted for the safer choice of the Pitaya Granite. But still a bit heartbroken about walking away from using the more elegant quartzites….

Can you just not use that portion of the slab? Or will you need the entire slab? I would probably keep it on the countertop instead of the backsplash if it must be used.

@Rachel Simanski Yes, leaving out that horizontal streak is possible but I was wondering if others thought that might be an interesting part of the slab.

Since the rest of the slab is so uniform I would leave it out if possible.

IMO that is the beuty of real stone . As for the rest I would need to see how the fabricator is planning on the layout

The kitchen design follows a mid century modern simplicity so we were hoping to keep the countertops simple yet interesting. I love the look of that streak but wish it was in the middle of the slab, then it wouldn’t command attention along an edge.
