Can someone please help identify this plant/shrub/tree?

Found this little fella growing in a small secluded area of my backyard, in between the (border) stones.The branches seemed kinda thick for a weed, so I figured it could be a tree (perhaps), which nature planted in the oddest of places, so I dug it up & planted it in a more open area in my backyard.
