IMO you need to go darker to get rid of the red and I happen to love dark floors

My concerns with darker floors are that I have a giant white dog, and my home has a very coastal vibe (driftwood, shiplap, blues and greens). If I go too dark it will be a bear to keep clean. My contractor is going to make a sample board when I decide on some colors, so wish me luck!

Use Red Out or pink blocker before applying your choice of brown stain.

Jatoba will always be markedly red, unless multi process bleached, or dyed dark. It's just like hair. If you have fire engine red hair, your options for going light brown are only going to include multiple bleachings and toning. High labor, high cost. Love it for what it is, or replace it. Replacing it will be cheaper than multiple manipulations to get the red out.
