Floor - and next to the wall we 'll have large sliding walls/windows leading to our side yard

Large format porcelain tile that looks like slate or concrete could be an option. It would ground the space vs. the white shown in the rendering which feels a little cold:

If you do this, pick countertops that mimic Calacatta Oro with gold/brown veining instead of gray.
