Hi All, anyone any idea for ceiling lights on vaulted ceilings ? I feel recessed lights on those would not look good. Thanks.

@Bella Depot Inc Thanks. Pendant lights are an option but I kinda only want to use them as the last resort. Anything else ?

I think your options are a pendant, chandelier, recessed, ceiling fan, or track. There may be others but these are all I can think of. Of these, I think pendant lights are best.

How much overhead lighting do you want in a LR? Would lamp lighting be enough? Seems like lots of natural light available with the 3 windows. We don’t know what the furniture plan is but seems like the high wall side of LR might be a great place for several sconces. That dining table is small but I think the hanging light over it is too small & too high. A larger chandelier light would there would also provide more light.

@KW PNW Z8 The dining pendant looks small but the bulbs are high power super super bright, and both the pendant and dining table are at standard heights. Yes there are windows but this is for the night time.

Hmm - I’ve read here that ’correct’ height above table for hanging light is 36”. That doesn’t always work out IRL but in your pic the light looks high. If bulbs are high power hope light is on dimmer for light control. So, for the LR, still think either sconces or track lighting about only option if you don’t want hanging or recessed lighting.

Wow, you sure got a lot of spam with your post!

I'd do as KW suggests. Once you get furniture in you'll know where to place lamps and sconces. You might be able to use one of the large arc floor lamps--it's a good style for that room.

    room dimensions please.

But I would say lamps will go a long way here, its not a wide space so Before tackling the ceiling I would first get the furniture and lamps in so you can so where and if you really need more over head.

^^^what RL said. I love good layered lighting and personally dislike can lighting especially in high ceilings. If most concerned about evening, lamps both floor and table along with possibly some floor wall wash lights to highly ceiling and corners would play nice in these rooms. Once you get furniture in, it is easier to decide where lighting is best. All remote control plugs help and dimmers. As to the dining light, shape is nice if it mirrors shape of table. Most make the mistake of hanging lighting too high. If you are keeping that dining light, you need it lower. But if they cut the wires at the junction box and didn’t leave extra wire up there, you will need new fixture. Re wiring fixtures usually costs more than comparable fixture. I think this can be a stunning home. Don’t scrimp on lighting. It will “make” your home.

These come in all shapes and sizes. Here is one example of remote wireless control plugs. Very handy to turn lighting on and off when desired. No need to reset if you have power blips in your area. Sounds fun!

You can do a custom chandelier that goes on the slanted ceiling.
