The bottom of stairs used to look like this with two steps to the half landing.  We took the half landing down to height of one step and created an additional step at bottom of the main run.  We were blessed with good dimensions which allowed this to work.  And also lucky enough to have high garage ceiling so this allowed garage floor to be raised to match this internal floor height perfectly.  We love that it is a big space so feels more like a family bathroom and part of the house, rather than feeling like a shower room shoved into a garage space.
