Just remember that USB technology is constantly changing. Today's USB-A will soon be replaced with USB-C, which has higher power and greater compatibility with currently new devices. So, don't go overboard with USB outlets.

So my question is - are you planning servicing these yourself when the break or need upgrading? Or are you planning on hiring an electrician to do that?

I have about 4-5 total throughout my house that were installed for very specific needs. That's enough for me to keep track of and manage. The vast majority of receptacles just need to supply power to something that's plugged in. Why go to the expense and complication of having a bunch of smart outlets if you can't specify a reason for having them? You can always add more later if some need arises.

Minimize “smart” stuff. Just difficult to keep working right. Power blips, reset reconnect devices. Power outages reconnect or reboot devices. This includes so many things you don’t think about. Cell phones, Apple Watches, ecobee thermostats, each thermostat, alarm systems, and smart outlets. It’s a big pain. Can you tell I just been through major process just because of installing a new upgraded Xfinity modem! Lol

I will said Lutron and depending on your high end you can start with Caseta or you can go with HomeWorks that is the highest level.
But what I recommend is that before you start with your smart home you need to understood that if you want this devices to work properly you need first to build a strong networking system at your home however Lutron don’t need your network to keep working so you don’t need to worry about reconnect or reboot your system.
