A rug to anchor the space. A slightly larger table. Lower watt lightbulbs. Move a narrow entry table closer to the entry door to establish the space as an area unto itself. Use a long and low storage buffet (or even two) along the wall with the current, high storage piece.

If you are starting from scratch, find the item that will express what you want and at a retail store that has experts to help direct you.

The item could be a light fixture, rug, or your existing china hutch and or sideboard. Wall paper or an over sized art piece.

I agree with the long console table on that wall the tall china cabinet could go over by that window if it fits or it can stay where it's at if you put a rug in that room I don't know the table seems more on one side of the room it's not quite in the middle of the rug it won't be unless the table can line up better with the window

The table belongs under the light

It seems like, since your front door leads into the dining room, that you also need an entryway. You could easily accommodate this by having a long console table on the wall where you have a small one. Then add a rug, and perhaps look at getting some artwork to hang above the console.
