I'm following this with interest as this is not something I've see before and the PNW is my territory also :-) I would also agree that the flowers and seedpod sure look to be Shepherd's Purse or something very similar, so not associated with the leaves.

I'm glad you mentioned this floral. I couldn't match up the flowers and leaves either. Google lens was giving me Capsella for the flowers and Longevity Spinach for the leaves.

I've never heard of Longevity Spinach so I googled it. It's Gynura procumbens. The leaves are more pointed, toothed and have different veination. We really need to know what size those leaves are.

It's a little misleading from her photo, because to me it looked much taller and it definitely is more robust and happier than the plants in the photos on google images. She confirmed that is what it looks like to her.

Prostrate knotweed was one of my initial thoughts and would chime with my suspicion that it is something in Polygonaceae. But the picture is very misleading since it gives the impression of a much larger leaf than PK. And, as we said, the flowers are definitely on a different plant.

I asked for a pic with something for scale Will post it if she does.
