Just got back from a month in Mexico, so - no - I am so not enjoying this winter weather! We are visiting our kids in Calgary or a few days and it's minus 12 here today - yuck!

It's not all that bad, Karen... It's only cloudy, cold and snowy here today, what's wrong with that? :)

Feel free to stop by our showroom if you have time during your visit in Calgary!

    Cheers,

    Patrick

Patrick, I came back sick - started coming down with some kind of virus the day we left Mexico. I just want to get home and crawl into my own bed!

So, no trip to your showroom this time around, but I do mean to get there one day. Actually, I will probably be back in Calgary in April, for my grandson's birthday.

Gee,, Karemore hope you feel better soon

What a cute valentine, Ann! Is that your own design?

Sending out hugs and kisses to my fellow Canadian Houzzers too. And, the valentine below is in no way meant to be an endorsement lol!

Hello from the escarpment area of milton Ontario.

Hello from the escarpment area of Milton Ontario. Bitter, viscous cold but you know what? It's not the devastating ice storm so I'm ok! In 6 weeks it will be spring on the prairie so your little house will be ready. Good to see you all again.
    Baby it's cold outside

    You can say that, again!
This weather wrecks my plans :-( as they are outdoor related

BTW, how are you feeling karemore55?
    Better, I hope..

Just put rum in your morning coffees and you won't care lol!

I am feeling pretty good, Anne - thanks! We just got back to Kelowna yesterday. It was sunny and high of about 10, I think - but this morning we woke up to thick fog. Haven't checked the forecast yet, but I hope we are headed into spring.

Anne, you must be a skier? Either that or snowmobiling? That's about the only way anyone could find something to like about winter!

So I must note--it is cold but not viscous; just vicious! Sorry that a misprint may have had you envisioning pea soup thickness, cold. Our air truly is transparent. Even in the cold.
    Hello City Space!

LOL Elayne - I wondered about viscous, but thought oh, OK....she just has an unusual way with words. Lolol

No Karen, just an unusual way with spelling. Or maybe I was just checking to see if anyone really reads what I write!

Hello everyone, Anne from Montreal...I am lucky enough to be far away from the cold, I am on vacations in Puerto Rico...thanks for this canadian get together !

Well, karemore55, it appears you are feeling better.

i guess rum will do that to you;)

My skiing days are in the past but i do like to jog and this weather makes it a bit treacherous and unpleasant.

I used to experience these type of days when I was living in Montreal but this is unusual for Toronto.

Oh well, spring should be here soon. fingers crossed!!

This thread has been a little slow lately, could it be that our friends out East are still bundled up, hiding from this crazy weather, and those out West are enjoying the above-average temperatures??

It's been unusually warm here in Calgary, and we'll do our best to bring you some of our Spring weather next week as we are coming for a visit to our Toronto showroom! We'll be at Tartaruga Design on Thursday, Friday (10-5) and Saturday (10-3), and we'd love to see some Canadian Houzzers there!

    Tartaruga Design - 43 Bertal Road, Toronto, M6M 4M7

    Enjoy your week-end!

@ French Barn - I didn't realise you had a showroom in Toronto! Does that mean you're selling in and servicing all of Canada for Lacanche now? Can they be serviced by any certified gas fitter, or does s/he have to be a Lacanche technician? I think they'd be perfect for a friend, but she needs some convincing still. :)
Oh, and you're right about the weather - it STINKS.

Hello Summery (lovely name, by the way!)

Yes, we are the Canadian distributor for Lacanche. Our main showroom is in Calgary, AB, and we have partnered with Tartaruga Design in Toronto. We will soon add a new location in Vancouver!

We have trained technicians in major cities, and also work with local technicians in less-populated area (which would be the vast majority of Canada!). Our ranges are very simple from a technical standpoint, and can easily be serviced by any certified technician familiar with gas appliances. We provide phone / email support as needed, and all warranty or service calls come through us.

If you and your friend are in Toronto, we would love to meet with you! Otherwise she can design her very own Lacanche on our website www.french-barn.com

Finally, if it makes you feel a little better, we just received 3-4" of snow overnight here in Calgary :( Looks like winter is making a come-back, just on time to get us used to it again before we fly to Toronto!

    Stay warm!

Well, it looks like our visit to Toronto might have to wait a little more, due to an unexpected family matter.

If you are planning to join us, please note that we will be at Tartaruga Design next week, March 26-28 instead !

    See you then!

    Hello, from Prince George BC

Fairly recent to Houzz, and loving it! Looking forward to spring, the tulips have pushed their way through the snow and are standing about 3" tall. Yeah! Have been spending the last couple of months updating the old house trying to ignore winter.....can almost do the yard work! That is, if I stay off of this site long enough to get things done....so many pictures, so little time!

Happy July 4th weekend to all my fellow Houzzers south of the border. *****(fireworks ;-)

And hello, Ann! I hear you're not getting the greatest summer out east? It's super hot here, and forest fires burning everywhere in the western provinces. Talk about extreme weather all around! Lol

Hello Houzz people from Saskatoon. 🙋‍♀️ I’ve been a long time fan of Houzz. When I need an idea or just have a burning desire to look at lovely things I can’t have - I think of Houzz. I don’t know exactly how to use this site. At all. Time I start I think- am seriously ready to switch up my small condo living room for a few new pieces and also would love to find the right privacy/shade items for my small sunny balcony and/or my garishly lit up balcony by night ( compliments of adjacent condo’s excessive lighting in parking lot. Have also seen a few items tonight that I’d love to purchase but unsure if they ship to Canada and also wondering if prices are all in US $. Eek- long intro.🤦‍♀️ but pleasure to meet you!
