Check out Bonelli windows and doors. They offer clear powder coat finishes over clear anodized aluminum windows and doors. Should stand up to just about anything. Powder coated exterior spiral staircase I put in three years ago five miles from the Pacific looks like the day it was installed (I was there today). Here: http://www.bonelli.com/

The long answer:
The issue with aluminum is that it is at the bottom of the Galvanic Scale. It is most likely to corrode in contact with *any* other metal and in the presence of an electrolyte (water with salt, acid or base... so oceanic humidity, acid rain, etc.)
Even the presence of iron dust from a proximate construction process working it's way into an aluminum frame can cause future corrosion over time.

As a result an aluminum product exposed to the elements is only as good as it's manufacture, protective coating and installation protecting it from other metals and electrolytes in it's environment. A bad install in a dry climate will be ok for a long time, a good installation in an ocean environment can go bad very quickly with just one thing done wrong. If you have a modern home with exposed steel elements, something like water sheeting down the face of the building carrying steel particles from structure above can cause problems on an aluminum frame below it. Some manufacturers, like Bonelli make very good products in this regard, but of course, they will be more expensive. Others, like cheap aluminum clad "builder grade" products, not so much. And even the best product can be rendered defenseless by careless installation.

The short answer:
Most commercial or high end residential aluminum window products are designed and built well enough for any residential application so long as they are installed to the same high standard as the product and the overall design considers and mitigates potential galvanic corrosion issues.
