I have real old school LVP in my walk out it has stood up for 16 yrs with huge dogs in and out of a free run dog run in all kinds of weather I sweep and mop at the end of the day if it has been raining or snowing. It i s from HD called Allure we installed with dri-core underneth and I love it still looks awesome and was very affordable . I probably now would look for one with the backing like dricore if going in a basement but on a main level I would do the thick planks that are glued down

You need to narrow down your options. Tone of wood: light, medium, dark. Do you like knots? Wide planks? Long or short planks? Mat finish, something more glossy?

Our Coretec is very durable. We drag furniture across it, we a dog ( he’s out on the lanai) I've dropped things on it. Honestly I don't know what I could do to damage it.

You have the basics of wear layer et al. Select one you like, and proceed.

Reading reviews rarely helps. There's a bad review on every single product, from SOMEONE.....somewhere.

Get down to two selections, order a box of each to test on your site. Throw one away and get the rest rolling : ) and installed.

I love Fusion Max....warm, natural looking....and a "rock" in performance. 72" x 7" planks which I prefer. Nutty brown, neither red, yellow or gray.

Want Longevity? Stay FAR, FAR, away from gray.

Do not use anything from Floor & Decor. problems with their LVP.

We put the same type that Patricia has in three of our rentals 15 years ago. Rentals to college students and sometimes their pets. They held up amazingly well. There was one spot where a candle fell over and melted the floor, but that was the only problem. The guy I hired to install them glued them to the slab. Not even sure if that was correct, but never had any problems and we used the HD stuff again in another rental 7 years ago. Still great, and these were not top of the line products. Don’t drive yourself into analysis paralysis. You’ve done your homework, pick the one you like the best with the features that make sense for your lifestyle and buy it. Jan is right - don’t do gray - get a classic look with staying power.

It must have specifications of at least 5 mm and be waterproof. For durability. Anything you choose, these are the two minimum requirements. Just those two things eliminate a lot of the competition.
