Counter space between range

Hi, looking for advice on the best division of counter space next to our range. (Note: We are working with limited wall space and I know the amount of space we have next to the range is not ideal/best practice, but it's what we are working with.)

We are looking to get a 32.75 wide fridge, which leaves us with a total of 34 inches of counter space next to our range after the fridge surround and other spacing is accounted for. I'm trying to decide if we go symmetrical and do 17in cabinets on each side or asymmetrical, 12in on one side and 22in on the other. Is one more practical than the other? Does it matter?

Also open to opinions on cabinet type, should we do drawers, no drawers, mix of both?
