Help With Colour Blocking Two Tone Kitchen

Hi Everyone,
Attached are renderings for our kitchen remodel. The images are really ROUGH, please don't pay attention to details other than the colour blocking. Many details are missing and/or incorrect. Just look at the colour layout.
We had decided on this layout of white mixed with light oak cabinetry. But now I'm wondering whether the right side wall should also be white? That is the wall for the integrated fridge.
We chose oak for that wall to make it look less plain since it's flat slab cabinetry, however, now I'm worried it's too much oak and white would feel more open and airy.
Our floors are a light oak as well. A touch deeper than the cabinetry.
Please let me know what you think.
Thank you!

Since the integrated refrigerator is right next to your white pantry cabinet, I would go with white.

    I also agree with white.

    Another vote for white

    I love the wood tone.

Wood looks really good. Also refrigerator’s get a lot of traffic and should wear much better than the painted white

It is the adjacency of the fridge and the white pantry cabinet that makes it look weird. If there were more separation, it might work better.

The color blocking is extremely awkward. This is not a kitchen that looks good split down the middle. Split it by doing perimeter and the island different colors instead.

I agree with @blueskysunnyday that this transaction in the corner is going to look weird with 2 colors.

@Toni Hamlett, I think the cabinets are not painted but laminate

My concern with making the other wall cabinets white is that it'll look really plain. These are flat slab fronts, not shaker etc. I'm worried it'll end up looking boring.

I think it is going to look better than shown

It's not the greatest rendering. And it's hard to see this kitchen given you don't see the space either.

All of the floor-to-ceiling cabinets should be the same, either white or wood. I think it could look terrific to make all tall cabinets wood, with just the white uppers and hood for contrast.

You can maybe do oak on all those big cabinets and just white uppers

J SK, we had considered doing all tall cabinetry in oak, and have a rendering too. However, two points,  1) I like the brightness white provides,  and 2) we have a little bulkhead return and we will have cabinetry fascia meet it at the ceiling,  like the photo attached.  So the only way to make look seemless and blend in is to have white cabinetry at that meeting point. The rendering doesn't show the bulkhead situation.

I like the wood refrigerator cabinet, as well. I think it is the two dimensionality that's throwing you off. In real life, it will be fine.

I really like the back wall cabinets and would not mess with those. The refrigerator cabinet has plenty of wood to tie it in. Look at the second photo, which will be a common view when you are actually working in the kitchen. If you have to, change the refrigerator cab to white rather than changing the other tall cabs to wood, but I don't think you have to, or should.

J SK, the white tall cabinets need to stay given the bulkhead return situation.

I think it is very personal choice.

J Sk, totally personal.  It is probably fine in so many possible combinations.  This is a contemporary kitchen and I've seen many kitchens where two different colours/finishes meet at a corner. I think you don't see much of this happening in a traditional kitchen.

Many options would work, it depends what you want, bright kitchen or a lot of wood. At above pictures you can see the wood are just some accents. When I build the house I considered wood cabinets then settled on white. I am glad I did since have a lot wood everywhere else, floors, staircase, railings. There is nothing better or worse it all depends what you want or like. My favorite it would be all tall cabinets white with wood island and parameter cabinets.

All wood. Or leave as is. Changing the flanking white tall cabs to wood squeezes the kitchen IMO..
