Was it a heavy wind driven rain? Was the screen closed?

Thats normal. Water drains through the frame. When you get very heavy wind driven rain such as yesterday, thats what happens. Nothing to worry about. I believe Provia uses a pocket sill on their sliding patio door.

+1. Where it will bypass the interlock, the frame is designed to drain to the exterior.

It was heavy rain &THEN light at times too for days.

When the installer installed the 8 ft sliding door.

We couldn't understand why the screen door didn't slide in place to lock. So he explained to me how to grab the screen .(which I video - so I wouldn't forget)) He told me as I slide the screen then I should pull the acreen door closer to me. I felt that was weird! I felt the screen should glide into place as I pulled it. The next day we called the office. The second installer came. He noticed there was an issue with the screen (it was all the way down on the tracks; it was blocking the weep holes & also the lock was bent too!. (this is how the installer had original left it!) The second installer advised us to place the screen half way to the right. After he left, a lot of rain still came in but to the very top of the all the tracks. Then I noticed the other weep hole on the right side was blocked. I immediately placed plastic shims under screen so all the weep holes would be exposed until they send a new screen door and top roller piece. (the screen is hung from top.(not bottom track)

I originally had an Andersen door for 22 years and I never experienced any rain in the tracks all those years I had it. The only time I did is when the door started to cause water damage; we tried to fix it. The weather stripping on the glass and middle of door was no good so rain was coming in through the interior wood panel. We needed a new door. @

TBH if I knew this I would have never purchased these Provia sliding glass doors. It's so unsettling to think if we were away or just out and it poured so heavy that it could overflow right on to my hardwood flooring. Why should rain water come it at all? Doors were made to keep the rain and elements out.

Dazz, water never actually came into your home or on your floors, it stayed in the tracks and drained as its supposed to do. There was no issue.

My sister had a new hurricane sliding door installed and they reversed the installation. Had to come back and flip the door.
