I am having trouble choosing a stair runner. After some research I think I will go with a wool runner, waterfall style. That's as far as I have made it in the selection process! I have a big, hairy, black and brown dog and kids in and out so I need something durable that hides dirt well. I also need the runner to co-ordinate well with my Pottery Barn Brandon rug and hall runner (see pics). The wall color is Benjamin Moore White sand so very neutral. I was thinking maybe taupe since the PB rug border has this color? I'd like to stay away from anything too geometric since I am worried about some elderly relatives with vertigo being disoriented when coming down.
