Question about Blue Lake bush beans

Hi all. I've planted this variety in the past (at least I think it was exactly this variety). I grow them in my raised food-grade stock tanks. It's been very dry, but I water every 2 days.....which it seems to need. I planted them 2 months ago. They are growing beans like crazy. But.....the beans are 5-7" long, and very thin. You can't even see any of the beans bulging inside them. I went ahead and picked and froze some recently. I'm afraid to let them continue to hang, since the bugs are starting to show up. Is this normal, for Blue Lake bush beans to be so long and thin, even when mature? Thanks!
