Is this for one visit or two visits per year? If you know how to change the filters then preventative maintenance every other year is sufficient in my opinion.

The cost for a 4 year labor warranty is $3250 for both systems which includes 2 maintenance visits per year.

That is a lot of up front money for labor costs you are unlikely to need in years 2-5. You are better off investing the money in a high rate yield CD or a mutual fund. Let's hope the installation was done correctly and you don't need any repairs. So far the Bosch equipment has proven to be reliable.

I have gas furnaces and AC condensers. I typically do preventative maintenance on the gas furnaces one year, and maintenance on the condensers the following year. So far it has worked well for the past 14 years. There have been two expensive repairs after the 10 year parts and labor warranty expired. But neither of them would have been identified during a preventative maintenance. I also have two systems. One system can keep the house comfortable if the other stops working during a hot summer day, or cold winter night.

Maintenance contracts are generally a scam and that's a heck of a lot of money for a 5 year labor warranty. I'd pass on both.
