Is that a FP or just the TV sitting on the floor? Is this a rental or not? IMO it matters since I would want a coat closet there as a divider if this is a non rental it wouls create an actual entry and for sure a place for coats that does not clutter the entrysince there is no space on the right of the door at all.. I need more info.

With no dimensions this is just a shot in the dark. Could the sofa go against the entry wall? Would there be enough room for the door to swing in?

If it does work you could paint the interior side of the door a darker color; put the t v over the fireplace opening; add more fabric at the windows; and put two chairs on either side of the fireplace/tv wall.

This arrangement won't allow for a coffee table, but there are cute clip on tables you can attach to sofa arms.

I like how you rearranged the sofa. Not sure how much room there is but if you can, move sofa a little further away from the window. Then perhaps a small drink pedestal could go there. I imagine the TV will be centered on the wall the sofa is facing. But if you do put the TV on the end wall, you will have options to have the sofa like you moved it to, or could put it back when you just want to change things up. Not sure how many people typically need seating in there, but when budge allows I would get a less bulky sofa and a small comfortable accent chair.

You could leave the sofa in the original location and add a bookcase or some other divider to create a sense of an entry.

It's nice to have a room where the sofa can float in the middle of it, but you don't have the space to do that successfully. This layout below will accommodate a good conversation and TV-watching area.

I agree with @BeverlyFLADeziner to put the TV on the wall right next to the front door in her layout rendering. You don't have room for an entry area. The sofa is too close to the wall.

Also because I dislike a TV screen as the very first impression when entering a home and that current TV wall is front and center. Hang art over the sofa.

Personally I'd do some window blinds (especially since your sofa is right there) but if you must have the curtains, you'll need to raise the rod

do something in white, raise the rod, and look into an inexpensive bamboo blind

Celerygirl gave you a good visual here. I'd stick w/something lighter.

BTW, you know your door is only primed, right? it need a coat of paint. paint it the same as your wall color, or, paint it a contrasting color.

The modern glass/chrome table doesn't really work w/your type of sofa. if you can sell and get something more fitting, it would be more cohesive. (or get a diff sofa.) (also an area rug)

find a nice console for under the tv. (if you hang the tv, don't go too high. from floor to MIDDLE of tv should be between 56-63" for that size you have)

this is the reverse layout of yours. you could do a similar type of wall. notice this tv though. hung way too high. should be lowered about 8". don't make the same mistake.

If you do get a new sofa, get something less bulky, do a few chairs, a wood table

Wow thank you so much beth and everyone! i love my glass table so much ill probably get a new couch instead just not sure the colour yet or style. ill go for not bulky. ill do high hung blinds i do have an area rug as well that i need to unroll

these are completely wrong for your window. stretch everything out. see the diagram in my other comment? get new curtains, bring up the rod, bring out the curtains a good foot on each side.

I like the re-oriented sofa but pull it away from the window so it doesn’t crowd the window and add 2 side tables. A reclining sofa calls for 2 side tables, not a coffee table - a coffee table close enough to reach will interfere with the way the foot rests open. When time to replace the visually bulky puffy recliner, consider a more streamlined frame and arms with comfy plush seat cushions.

Your dogs are so very cute. Their coloring makes them look like miniature ponies. Looks like the couch potato pooch likes to look out the window. Need to keep that in mind when rearranging, lol.

I very much understand wanting an entry space, but the room isn't that large. Hate to see you lose space that might make the room more comfy and I like the chairs Bev added in her floor plan.

Here's a pic of a house that is sort of oriented like yours. Looks like you have a nice porch on the front. Make that your entry visual by doing some planters beside the door on the porch. You can make that cozy and welcoming. Then change to door to one that has windows as Beth suggests above. See how the TV is over a console chest in the below pic? You can do that and place some nice decorative items on the chest so it's not all TV.

A fabulous rug will pull this all together. Neutral curtains will work whether you keep this couch or go for a new one.

Having the “room” smaller but with an entry is a good plan, but you should try Beverly’s idea as well. That will help you to decide if you want a new couch and what style.
