living room decor/curtain issue- NEED YOUR HELP!

Hey guys, need your advice on my living room. To hang curtains or not to hang curtains? I was thinking of just doing one panel on each side of the windows.. versus two panels per window. Thoughts?? Could also do Roman shades but I’ve always preferred the look of traditional curtain panels/drapes.

Also would appreciate any feedback/corrections/tips on the living room set up/decor as a whole :)

Thanks in advance :)

I think that i would like 2 shears at each window. Your rooms looks beautiful, and I would add some colorful art to the walls.

I think your room is contemporary enough that you don't need curtains, and I'd skip them myself. You do need a large piece of art over the couch, though -- aim for 2/3 the width of the couch!

I agree with @grapefuit1_ar that sheer curtains on each side of each window would bring an airier look to the room, as long as you pull them back so that you can let as much light as possible in.
    Also, love your ceilings!

You did not mention sun exposure, light control or privacy needed. If you love curtains go wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling trim. Open during the day for access and closed at night...so cozy and sophisticated. I don't think you need sheers with them except for privacy.

    Ditch the blinds.

I found some black out curtain online and they look full on my windows. I would recommend using black out curtains over un lined curtains, unless the curtains were sheers. Also I think panels should be 2 to 2 and 1/2 the width of your window. My window was 7 feet wide and I ordered four 51" panels. The curtains look great open or closed; they still maintain their soft grommet spacing and design.

Unlined curtains. they give a softer look but the pattern if bold and busy so can disguise lack of lining........I think these are probably always open?

These are lined and have a a very 'still' look. Can be closed or opened; note how close rings are.....very unique style.

    My two cents. Good luck.

Hi, Ashley! There isn't enough room to hang side panels so to add color to the room, roman shades would be a nice addition in a pretty print. Most roman shades don't like to go up and down a lot so you could do an outside mount and leave the blinds for privacy. Set the Roman shades at a third of the height of the window and leave them there. An off white with a brown print of some sort would add color and depth to the room.

A modern triptych would be neat. I like your console!

It seems like your place doesn't need curtains, however, if you'd like to add some it might enhance the look of your space. Below are a few of the recent designs we completed for our clients. Note the window treatments used.
