I don’t know if you have the energy for this idea, but a friend of mine has an old house and struggled to find something for the downstairs powder room “hole” where the medicine cabinet was. She bought a new medicine cabinet that fit, removed the mirror and attached a gorgeous old mirror that enhanced the room. I think her carpenter used heavier hinges to attached the chosen mirror to the interior cabinet box.

I can tell you it’s been there for over 40 years and still is a knockout mirror. No one knows there a medicine cabinet behind it, but it looks period appropriate. If you don’t like what any of the medicine cabinets look like, you can always change the front piece to a mirror that works with your very special bathroom.

Great idea about the mirror! I was thinking the same and have been hunting for one (we try to by used!).
Here’s a little update:
Painting of the walls has been completed.
We still need to tackle trim and decide what we will do with the radiator. I’ve been trying to find one of those vintage covers but it’s so hard to find the right size.
Lights have been installed. We had to go with a different option since the other ones we wanted were huge and looked really out of proportion.
I’m starting to wonder if the music cabinet belongs in the space. It feels kind of big, so I’m not sure. Thoughts?
It’s like the left side of the sink feels heavy. But to the right/ in the toilet area it feels light. Maybe a shelf above the toilet would help to balance it out?

Great progress! A couple things. Yes, the music cabinet is a bit too big for that spot. Need more narrow piece and probably white. A old dentist metal cabinet with glass shelves would be great there. Can you turn the lights so the glass is upright? They look like they are upside down?

Here’s just one. Would take some hunting but would suit the spot well.

IKEA also has some narrow pieces that could be used in this spot.

Maybe because it’s near the doorway? I do love the piece but somehow it seems awkward in your bathroom. An open glass/pharmacist type cabinet may be better… like the one Flo posted.

For some reason it seems to be too much mass, not sure why but it does. Here's a very rough mockup of something smaller and rounder. Not sure it's it, but it does seem more in proportion.

The cabinets that appeal to you are glass and, thus, their volume seems reduced. Check antique shops and online for similar period pieces AND for a vintage medicine chest for your bathroom. (I actually still have two that I removed when remodeling my 1939 bathrooms. I have kept them in my attic. Also have vintage sconces that I removed and have kept.). I believe you can find them if you look!

I agree the scale of the music cabinet (which is beautiful and I hope you can find another place for it in your home) is too big. Something narrower. But also the height seems off- like it’s competing with the sink. Either tall and narrow, almost to the chair rail. Or shorter- toilet tank height or at least below the lip of the sink.

The white walls look good. I have the purple bathtub and the purple sink (set into a countertop), in my bathroom. My lower walls are all tile, but, they are white, so much easier to work with. My floor is also white tile. I painted the top half gray. It worked out good. I should have added, I have all black trim, and a black vanity.

The wood cabinet is nice and imo works fine. Just hang a piece of art over toilet. a black frame.

Here's a $250 art deco cabinet that might work better. Personally i wouldn't want a top-heavy glass cabinet -- or any glass, really, in a bathroom.

For the mirror - it is often easier and cheaper to find a large vintage frame you love and then just have a mirror cut to fit - I have done this for several powder rooms and it looks very expensive but isn't (which is my fav)

I think you need a hanging chest with a door over the toilet. You could paint either of these. This top one has art-deco-ish scallops and you could get deco/cerarmic hardware

I am a thrifting QUEEN haha but I have yet to find something just right. I’ll continue to be patient bc I know it’s out there.
Here’s measurements for the radiator (in the photo) it could have a shorter length as tbe 46 wide is to account for the two pipes in the floor. About 38in without the pipes!
Also added some plants to the bathtub area. I have more of the bubblegum plant that I’ll hang later!

Go for the small black metal and glass apothecary cabinet look. Here is one on Wayfair for $200, but you would need to make a simple wooden plaform for it to sit on and paint it gloss black. It is 24” tall, 28” high and 9” deep.

I haven't read the entire thread, so I don't know if this has already been suggested - if you are looking for one of the old fashioned perforated metal type radiator covers (and can't find a vintage one), see if there is a metal fabricating shop nearby. They could probably easily make one to your specifications. LIkewise, a local cabinet maker if you want a wooden cover.

For a radiator top…just go to a place that sells granite or marble remnants and have a slab cut to place on top of the radiator. Lots of people with radiators like yours do that. And it looks period appropriate, too.

I like that suggestion from @ptreckel for the radiator. Much less money than a custom cover.

What will you store in over the toilet shelves and do you really need them? If so, could you get vintage iron bracket arms and hang wood shelving painted to match your walls?

I thrifted a fantastic metal bathroom wall shelf unit and have painted it to match many different bathrooms in different homes.

I would avoid introducing stained wood in that area. You have achieved a great look with a nice sense of balance. I would focus on shelves that feel like they disappear.
