Yes lvp looks even more fake next to real wood. Real wood of basic species like pine or oak doesn’t even cost that much. If you don’t want hardwood in those areas at least don’t use wood look lvp, tile or vinyl in a dark slate looks intentional.

have you looked into real engineered hardwood instead of LVP? The real wood will last (guarantee) 25-50 yrs, but the LVP will not. and lvp (unless you really spend a good price) will always look like fake wood.

ideally you want the same flooring throughout. like this oak. see how much nicer this looks when everything is the same? diff railing too(more on that further down)

You can get new treads (oak) and stain them to match whatever flooring you get. keep the risers painted white if you like.

why not look into a wire brushed french oak? that's what I have. it's pretty darn tough.

I've spilled water over it, have animals and it's held up very well. You could match your stair treads a lot easier to it (or, just get oak treads to replace the doug fir you currently have)

or, how about something black or dark gray in a slate or this basalt tile

As a sidenote, once you touch those stairs, you'll have to bring that railing up to code. the ballusters on the left side are too wide. (4" max)

You could also close off that railing to give you more storage or a place for furniture:

don't know what your style is. are you going w/the mcm look? or something diff?

in any case, I'd stick w/the real hardwood. You will never lose money on it and it will always be in style. (unlike vinyl, which is this one. you tell me which flooring looks better!
