I have a general question - where should the bedroom door be, should it always be at one end of the room as opposed to open into the middle of the room ?

Specifically wrt to the bedroom in our home. We are doing a remodel. Attached 2 pics of one of our small bedrooms (9'6" x 9' 2").. pic1 shows the door. Right behind the door on the left is a small 4' x 2' closet. Pic2 shows rest of the room & where the twin bed. I would like to move the door to the middle of the room and open the other way towards the bed. It will open to the tail of the bed. there is 2 feet of floor space after the tail of the bed. Our son puts his laundry bins there.. I feel it will expose the room better vs current door position. Would like to hear your thoughts
