Where to find an affordable custom shower pan

Hello! We are redoing our tiny and original 1978 primary bath including the shower. Dimensions are 46” x 33”. We are DIYing it, so prefer to use a shower pan instead of tiled shower floor. Any rec’s on where to buy an affordable but modern-looking (ie. low-profile) custom shower pan for under 2K?

Of note, we are thinking of going with FlexStone for the shower walls if anyone has used that brand before. I can get 96” shower walls and shelving/trim for about 2K shipped from Menards. Understand that, in materials, tile is about the same or even cheaper, but finding an affordable tiler in our area is nearly impossible.

With mud set walls, you will easily gain 1" or more in width and length. The issue is that custom needs to account for that exactly. That means demo happens way sooner, and you set there with nothing happening for the 8 weeks that it takes to make it and ship it without breaking. Which doesn't always happen, and then you have a reorder for an "expedited" 6 weeks.

This is why you do a custom tile pan. A tiler can be in and out in 7-10 days for the whole project, if everything is on hand before starting.

Lis - I am having a similiar dilemna. I want a zero or low threshold for our shower and was looking to use Corian for shower walls and floor as to avoid grout with tile but replies on my post mentioned how expensive it is. I need to do further research but shower walls are my next thing to look at and will follow your post to see if others comment about the FlexStone. I did come across a website Innovative Building Supplies http://www.innovatebuildingsolutions.com/ that has options as well. I plan to call them. They have been responsive via email. I believe they are on Houzz as well which is where I first learned about them.

Try Onyx Collection for a non-tiled shower pan with walls panels and trim available. Www.onyx collection.com. Kohler makes shower pans it I’m not sure if you can order a custom size.

Reframe the shower to use a standard size pan will be your route to a budget project. Learning to tile is the other. Tile provides a durable surface that lasts for hundreds of years! Just look at the vintage 20’s bath that still exist in many century homes.

Affordable does not go with custom. Affordable is stock materials and stock sizes.

I'm not an expert but my shower measured 46" as an inside measurement, but when it was all demo'd out it actually fit a 48" standard shower pan. The walls of the shower are built on top of the edges of the pan and then tiled or paneled.. Ask a contractor, but like me you could probably fit a 48x34 standard pan. I did not want a tiled shower floor and we used a Delta shower pan and it's been very easy to live with.
