Exterior Paint Dilemma

Getting a new garage door and would like to update the color of the siding as well? Do you have color recommendations? Would you paint the brick?

I like the look of darker trim on windows and doors, but I just purchased the home and there are two brand new French exterior doors (white).

Painting the brick is a long term maintenance issue. Are you sure you want to take that on? Have an overall plan before you do or get anything. Look at this as a big picture - not parts.

I wouldn’t paint the brick. With the warm roof (looks brown) and warm brick, consider trim in a softer warm white. Siding could be a woodsy green. To be honest, the entry door doesn’t fit the home’s character. I would change it when budget allows.

    Would you paint the brick?

    Not with regular paint.

With a virtually maintenance free mineral paint, yes. Can get smaller cans of RomaBio from The Home Depot to test colors - which I recommend.

The brick itself isn't a problem, it's the mix of materials and proportions overall. Unifying all that with one color would improve curb appeal.

I don't hate the white siding and I for certain would not paint the brick. The brick is one of the nicest things about your home. I tried a few colors on the SW's Visualizer and it seems like a mild change would be best if any. If you want to try colors go here:https://www.sherwin-williams.com/visualizer#/active/color-wall

I think the money would be better spent on professional landscaping.

To start to pull everything together, match garage door to roof. Paint siding a sage green. Do not paint the brick, just the siding.

As budget allows, coordinate the walkway with the driveway. It's jarring to see that gray against the more reddish/gold driveway. Something like this would be great, and you could put a couple attractive outdoor chairs for seating in front of the dark space between the garage and house.

I agree that a sage green, would look much nicer on your house than the white you have now. I also think that the garage door painted to match the roof is a good idea. Landscaping is very much needed.

One of the most saved brick exteriors ever on Houzz. Here the garage door is painted the same as the siding. You could try that before you actually have to replace your garage door.

As you look at siding colors, the main thing to remember is your highly visible brownish roof and the golden tones of your driveway so everything harmonizes. Hope there's a way to change out the walkway, either by staining the pavers, which sometimes can work. (Try it out on a small section) or redoing the walkway to echo the driveway.
