It is an 1/8 of an inch, not a big issue if everything is installed plumb and level.

You can use shoe moulding to cover the gap in most places except at door jambs. Will a 1/8” gap there bother you?

Thanks. My biggest concern is the kitchen cabinets. The floor would be 1/8” shorter so I’m worried about 1/8” exposure that was never there before at the bottom of my cabinets. That may look terrible considering I just restained them and they sit on tile. Or, is there a way that installers can raise the edges 1/8” in those places (where the floor meets the cabinets)? I honestly have no idea how this would work and the installer wasn’t too clear with me. Two of them said it would work though. One was via email (not too responsive so it’s hard to get a straight answer) and the other didn’t have an answer I understood.

Can you remove/pull back a tiny bit of the existing kitchen flooring to see what’s going on with your kitchen cabinet toe kicks?

Install 1/8" panels to make up the difference. Will probably cost another $3.00 psf.

We often use a 1/8" cork composite underlayment to raise up the height difference. The cost is about $.90 per sqft.

Don't forget adhesive and labor cost to install the cork properly.

Thanks everyone. The 3/4" is 3$ per sq more so it's probably just worth going that route and keeping everything consistent. I appreciate the advice.
