is this done correctly?

I have requested the outlets on my shop be done with a hardie board backing, instead of the standard plastic insert.

Does this seem to be done sloppily, or does it look correct?

I am not well versed in siding, but had an expectation of a more finished look.

Hard to tell from one picture. I do not know about correctly, but it looks like it was done creatively.

If your jurisdiction uses 2018 residential code you are going to need weatherproof outlet covers anyway and this won't work with that (unless that weird flashing stuff is a base for a protective cover.

But short answer - no - this isn't good. Do you have a picture of what you were thinking?

It is code to have the flashing over the hardie outlet? He was explaining something about that?

Are you asking about outlets where you plug something in, or a mounting block for a fixture like the light you show above?
