I think I need measurements for sure and some pics of the actul space . I put fake grass in on all my ground level and pool deck I love it BTW. Post the pics here in comments do not start another post. IMO you need to think about how you use the outdoor space . Our pool is on the S. side so gets really hot on the deck so not much happening on the pool deck other than swimming and drying off on the loungers . We do have on the N side an outdoor kitchen a large dining space and a large seating area The outdoor kitchen close to the kitchen space inside and that outdoor kitchen separtes the dining area from the seating . Sort of likea house would be designed. I think it is imporatnt with kids to be able to see them from he house when in the pool too.

I like the kidney shaped pool plan as it looks to fit your site better. But you may not be able to use an automatic cover which is a safety feature with young kids.

The 3' height of the deck behind the rectangular pool is concerning as it can be a safety issue for falling off onto a hard pool surround or even into the pool.

Working with slopes is tricky. A really good landscape architect, pool company and landscaping company are must haves. I personally would want to see more detailed 2-D and 3-D plans to be sure the slope is accurately captured in the design plans.

I have a peanut-shaped pool in a sloped yard with terracing. The landscape architect (LA) who designed the pool/gardens/other backyard features did very detailed 2-D plans and 3-D renderings based on the surveyors detailed property elevations. The LA was on site when the pool forms were put in and throughout the project as some design adjustments were made during the install due to the slopes.
