Thanks for the link. I'd suggest editing your original post to re-title it so people are aware you're notifying us of his passing; I originally thought you were paging him and just happened to click on it.

I am saddened to hear this. Chris was a helpful and knowledgeable contributor and the photos of his "wild" garden and meadow were attractive and inspiring. It's always sad when we lose one of our gardening family.

He will be missed.

O Noes....Christopher was a true artist. His wry posts and evolving magical garden will be missed (I had been wondering where he was for some time).

Oh how terrible. I am so saddened to hear this news. I hope he knew he made an impact here, and I'm sure, elsewhere. Blessings to his family and friends in their loss.

It's always very sad to view an empty home or garden of one who so lovingly had tended it.

So sorry to hear this.

I was devastated to learn of his cancer diagnosis. I felt like I had just “ met” him and had a new garden friend from whom I was learning so much. Now so sad he is gone. It is amazing how he could make such an impact without ever meeting.

I also remember his posts in the forums. I never knew he had a blog and did not realize he was so ill. Best wishes to his family and those who knew him. I hope his meadow will live on in his memory.

Thanks for posting the links to his blog and obituary. Very touching to read. It's so odd that while we all share a little bit of our gardening life here with each other, that there is always so much more we don't share and it was such a surprise that Christopher was such an invested gardener for so long. I guess as he said himself he was a gardener - in the garden - and not a garden communicator. [g] I had to laugh that he mentioned his slow internet connection and bad cell phone coveage, so participating on social media was not the easiest thing for him to do.

And clearly he will be deeply missed by his family and friends and sincere sympathy to all who knew him.

Very sad. His last posts truly are touching.

I haven't been on much so I am just hearing of this. I loved watching his garden spread out. If asked to give advice he would oblige with encouragement. Yes, he will be missed.
