helpp!! best fitting rug for bright bedroom

Hey guys!! so I just moved to a new place and I have a fairly big bedroom and would like to place a rug in the space between the bed and the desk.

Can you guys give me ideas on which tyoe of rug would fit best in my space?

I have a lot of light as one of the walls is full windows.

I have a queen Bed frame which is gray and the duvet is white. I have that cream blanket on top of it because its cozy. I have my brown wood and black metal desk and a big black leathery office chair which isnt in the picture but just so you know.

I'm also open to more ideas on different ways to set the bedroom up if you think it would look better in a different way and about shelving options to get a bit of storage.

Btw im a 27 year old girl

Thank you!

Beautiful room/floor/windows! Could you please post a photo of the room taken from the far corner so we can see the other 2 walls and a floor plan with measurements? What is that white bump out at the base of the windows? A radiator cover? Does it continue along all of the windows?

Yes please more pics as Susan asks! I also want to know what’s on the wall to left of desk/opposite the windows & how long that wall is. Looks like closet is on wall at end of bed. I’m wondering if bed will fit on wall facing windows - what a view to wake up to! Would desk facing the windows work for you? Also wonder if you have a night stand for at least one side of bed. What is that item up next to the ceiling over the bed - it looks like art but surely not if it’s hung up there next to ceiling, That white bump out Susan asks about - is it sturdy enough to sit on or hold weight? Thinking window seat with cushions would be great. Looks like there might be blinds in those windows - is that right? Are they black like the window frames?

If the wall to the left of the desk is open and long enough, I’d place the desk on that wall and a night stand with drawers beside the bed. If you can get by with a smaller desk and budget allows, trade the current desk for a smaller one with a row of drawers on top. It will provide some desk storage, elevate the style, mesh more with the bedroom decor, take up less visual/actual space, which may allow the night stand/bed to spread out a bit. The mirror could on the wall beside your closet.

I realize all replies are about everything but the rug you ask about. But, before getting a rug the room arrangement needs to be set as that defines the floor space available / rug size. Any kind / style of rug will work since there’s no definite color or style to match. But, maybe you want a soft rug to step on right out of bed. The position of desk & chair matters because you want that chair to roll or slide on / off the rug easily it the rug fill the desk area too. So, furniture arranging first, then rug size & placement determined, then choose rug!
