That said, what room(s) is adjoining? Are any other rugs nearby? Can you show what’s open to this room?

A natural woven rug, solid or with a pattern, might work, too.

Seeing more, I can picture a vintage Persian or Oriental rug in your living room — Ebay, Etsy, Rejuvenation (love their rugs), or maybe somewhere local.

Otoh, something with a modern sophisticated look could work, too.

Before you buy a rug, are you satisfied with the furniture layout? Is the brown sofa a necessity?
