Fair point. I may need to excavate in front of the wall and put in a drain, that empties to upper left in picture. But that's a lot more work. Another strategy might be to pour a several inch tall concrete barrier that meets the concrete slab at the side. But there is waterproof epoxy grout that could be used with tile, though I'd need thick floor tile to be impact resilient enough.

Do it right, and dig the drain, so you dont have future problems. Its always better to do things the right way, and yes, it could involve a bit more work.

Well, the idea is that a concrete or tile barrier won't make for future problems. That may be a "right way". Are you saying that's not the case? Please explain. We're talking demolition of a piece of concrete driveway, not just digging a trench in soil.
