Mine are about 35.5" finished height, including counter.

Two of my bathrooms are 34" vanity height and they are fine. The primary bath is 37" and it's fine for hair and makeup, teeth etc....although I admit I would not want to work over that height in my kitchen. I'm 5'1". If I remodeled that bath (has a jacuzzi tub I don't use or want) I might be tempted to install same height counter again. It's 7' wide, 37" high and gives me all kinds of storage in drawers, cuts clutter by a lot.

I think every custom vanity I’ve installed in the last decade has been 36” finished height. A few stock vanities might be 2” shorter

In my shack, I used 36". I'm short and find it comfortable on my back. I use a stool to clean mirror and lights.

But it's my forever shack, as long as I can.

We just redid our bathrooms and went with the trendy 36” in the primary. I regret it and we haven’t even moved in. I can’t lean forward to look closely in the mirror. (I am on the shorter side.) In the guest we have 34” and I prefer that.

It depends on how tall you are. I'm 5'5" on a good day, and I can't easily wash my face or bend over and spit out toothpaste and rinse my mouth in a sink in a 36" countertop. 34" is much more comfortable and still looks current.

Do what is comfortable for you and yours. Ours are the same height as our kitchen counters and are very comfortable. Don’t remember the height, but it is 2 inches below my elbow.
