Hubby is 6'8 inches? equals 90" What is your island width?

To be honest? You're going to have to hang those awfully high / about 44" from bottom of light to counter top (generally about 36" works well) - or listen to him whine over the head banging, depending width. I'm guessing you've no more than 39 inches width from the picture.

I strongly suggest you do a test with the electrician there on site, - pick a comfortable spot and hang height

Don't forget that he may be 6'8" at the edge but the further he bends over into the island the shorter he gets. So have him bend over from the edges and measure from the island top as to where the top of his head his. And honestly how often is he going to bend over into the middle of the island.

Try measuring from the middle of the island first ignoring where the sink is. Try hanging them with the outside edge of the light 22" from the edge of the counter. Next try 18" from the edge of the counter or anywhere in between. See where the top of his head is.

My kids are 6'4" and that's when I figured out they are shorter when leaning over.

I hope you put a recessed can over the sink, then -- it's going to be a bummer if nobody can tell whether a spoon is clean before putting it to dry!

I vote no pendants. They will have looong cords and disrupt the overall look. You don't need another focal point.

I'd still just make the electrician give you a visual -just equidistant from the beam...leave 15" open on the short end if possible : )

From edge of sink to end of island is 41”. So I think centering them at 22” from edge of sink puts the edge of light at 13” from the sink and 12” from edge of counter. Since the pendant is 18”.

My island is 116” long. From the edge of sink to end is 41” on one side and 46” on other. Sink measures 29” So should I center on the sink and beam above or just measure from outside edge on each side?

Equadistant from the beam on each side. Forget about sink being off center.
