I think the table and light fixture are charming in this space. The chairs IMO look way too large in scale. The table and light fixture can stand by themselves in the space. I'd keep them.

Please stand further back, add more pictures, to INCLUDE the living space the precedes this space? Include a view from....everywhere.

I like the dining table there but it seems you do not entertain for dining so then you figure out what you need the space for .and how often do you need the doors I guess is my question. I have no idea how I would live without dinner guests often so my DR is a huge deal.

Is that the room with a view? I think that might be my favorite part of the house. Think about how you’d like to use it: Reading, Morning coffee, Afternoon conversation with a friend, Happy hour, Dog cuddling, substitute patio on hot days?

Move the table and chairs aside and live with it for awhile. I would be standing at the door periodically to see the weather or what the animals were doing outside, or maybe even open up the door for some fresh air at cooler times of day.

I might furnish it with comfy wicker chairs and sofa or chaise with outdoor cushions that you could sink into. Or a bar, but that would block the view, unless you could see over it. Something to lie down on would be my preference. That was comfy enough to take a nap on.

Yeah, if you treated it as a porch, you might get just the right comfy wicker couch to slide over so it didn't block the door. But the table without chairs is lovely too.

Consider how you would benefit /enjoy this lovely space and you may end up love being in there. Reading, computer time, lounging, having drinks or coffee with friends, having breakfast, playing cards, etc. It’s cozy and bright and a very flexible space.

You're "getting rid of the table" so.....it means you don't entertain, or you belong to a club, dine out w friends or there's a spot we can't see.

Both spaces feel quite flat and cold. You seem to be in two palettes, one warm one cold.

Mixing warm beige with gray takes some skill. It needs texture, depth.

I might begin with taking the swivels from the living room out there, add generous fabric ottoman and make a secondary sitting spot.

I'd then revisit the living room, and look to warm it up a bit. Two new chairs ? Tables look a bit too matched and small, is the couch comfy ( ? ) as it doesn't really appear to be. Consider a different selection, fabric can still be durable.

It's not that you can't mix and still be modern or contemporary - it's how you mix, as not all neutrals are exactly as neutral as one might believe.

Juxtapositions.....tactile invitation and texture, soft, or crunchy, to cool and flat and woven or leather . Wood, and metal, and marble.... they all feel different, look warm, or look cool to touch.Depth of color as well.

Your breakfast table appears to be in an area that only has a small window in the back door? If so, you might consider relocating your smaller table where the two of you eat all your meals to the area with the big windows. Hubby and I always put our breakfast table as close to a window as possible and we get a lot of joy from observing our landscape and the mountains in the distance in the changing light and changing seasons . . .
