It looks like it used to be gray, but gray won't go very well with your brown chairs. Can you use the chairs out back instead? Can we see the whole front of the house with the new shutter color?

Those chairs are in back now. I don't have a photo of the latest configuration, but the chairs I have now are a pair of black wooden rockers. I don't know if that helps.

You don't need the shutters at all. They're not appropriate on such a wide window. I don't know if you want to undertake this, but I think the whole exterior would look better in a different color. Personally I like yellow, but not that shade. Your roof looks tan, so I would dial back the yellow to cream or move toward taupe, but not beige. Green would work also if you want something not as neutral. Make sure it would look good with white trim since you have white windows and have already committed yourself to white trim. The brick is nice, no need to change it. Without brown elements on the front the porch floor would look good gray. It's the most popular color for painted concrete because it looks like concrete. I can't tell if you really need a new front door, but it could be a more interesting color like red, blue or green depending on whether you decide to change the body color. Garage doors usually look best in the body color so as to not call attention to them.

@ kelli_ga - I like the idea of a covering. Cost would be a concern, but I'm researching some options on that. Maybe terra cotta tile? I think if I tried to do it with brick, that would be too much brick. But maybe not?

@kandrewspa - I appreciate your note about the shutters, but I rather like them myself, even if I'm not supposed to! And yes, the main exterior paint color is not my first choice, but I do have to pick and choose my projects due to budgetary constraints. I will probably go for a more neutral cream or taupe. I think yellow houses are cute, but right down the block is the same model and is yellow with white trim, so that isn't going to work for me.

With regards to the door, what it is now is light years better than it was when we bought the house (I'm posting some reference photos for you). Hubs didn't want a statement door. I am on the fence about that - can't decide. The white is not much more than a year old, so it will remain that way for now.

The screen door was not to my liking, and the front door behind it needed a face lift.
