You have a lot of room in your laundry room. You have tons of space over the machines. For example, you could move your washer closer to the dryer and put hooks on the wall between the washer and the hall to use for coats. If your washer is a top-loader, you can't put more shelves in, but you can over your dryer. You can make the existing shelves deeper.

You can put in a folding shelf over the washer or dryer to have a place for folding or sorting. Try a rolling hamper so you can move it around easily.

I don’t know if you have the width for an Ikea Hemnes shoe cabinet, but they are one of the best solutions I’ve found for shoe storage by the door.

The areas look well organized but crowded. Considering your budget, here are some ideas. If your first priority is a more spacious entry, remove the shoe storage shelf and don't install the coat hooks sitting on top of it. Remove the temporary paper shade and use poster paint or spray-on removable glass paint to add privacy to the oval window on the door. You can add a closet rod or fold-out valet rod over the dryer when budget permits.

In the long run, adding a frosted glass door to the laundry room would improve the entryway appearance.

If you want to add storage, the only place is the laundry room. Please add a measured floor plan, a photo showing the wall next to the washer, and a photo of the wall with the window so we can make additional suggestions.

Thank you all! I will update my post with measurements. Can’t wait to hear more great suggestions.

I would take the shoe storage piece out of there and put it in your bedroom and get into the habit of taking your shoes off there. Declutter. So that it will be more spacious looking and more visually attractive. Take the clothes off of that rod and either wash them or put them in a drawer somewhere or stack them in a neat pile. Could you put a curtain on the laundryroom?

The shoe storage bin and the appliance protruding beyond the LR opening are squeezing and narrowing the doorway. It must be tough to walk through with laundry and for several people to enter/exit at the same time. Make the small entry a pass through for both dwellings and shoes and drop zones are stored in each unit.

Just a guess but you may be able to swap out the dryer duct for one that hugs the wall so the dryer can be pushed out of the doorway.

Regarding dryer duct space, you might be able to open the wall behind dryer so duct sits in the wall, allowing you to push the dryer back. Just enough below top of dryer, not the whole wall.
