Seems silly to vote. A round light could be fine, a linear light could be fine, probably a rectangular light could be ok given the context of the room.

If you want actually helpful advice, post a photo of the room, the table and chairs, your style, and lights you have been attracted to! :)

IF you have any thoughts of changing the direction of the table, go with a round chandelier. Otherwise, circle or linear will work over the table!

With that table, I'd definitely go in a modern direction. Something like a Nelson pendant or similar would be great.

Any shape will suit, it’s the proportions, effect and suitability that are important. Since it‘s off the kitchen, I’d look for a style that feels modern and light.
