trim jade plant trunk

Pros-
I have this healthy jade plant.
I will trim it in the green lines….
The question for you all is the following… the base is curving and also longer than what I like. What are your thoughts about cutting in the red line and let it root and plant again but at that time with a shorter/lower base trunk. Are the probability of success high?
This plant I cut from a very large plant in California, so it root one already from the base.
