convert Old fluorescent fixtures to LED

I have 2 older 2 bulb fluorescent fixtures. They take 24" bulbs. They have what looks like a transformer at each end, and also a starter at each end.

Only one of the bulbs will light up on each fixture.

I have switched the bulbs around, bought new starters, and moved the "transformers" that work to the fixture side that does not light. They have Un shunted tombstones.

I can't figure out why only 1 bulb lights and the other does not. All the wiring looks intact and securely fastened.

I will admit I am not electrically literate. I thought it might have something to do with the transformers. I checked the temperature of the "transformer" of the lit bulb, and it was warm (85 degrees) The other "transformer" that was not lit was room temperature. I replaced the cool "transformer" with a "warm " one from the other fixture, but still only one bulb lights.

Sorry for being longwinded.

I am seriously thinking of switching it to a Direct Wire LED. That way I could eliminate the starters and also the "transformers"(ballasts?)

I would welcome any ideas or comments about how to fix this or direct wiring these. From what I understand, I need to use LED style B Is that correct?

Yes, you can rewire the fixture to use a Type B, or you can use a Type A/B and either rewire or not. THIS site will give a good explanation of your options.

I've found Type A tubes to be more widely available, but still prefer the Type B since possible need to replace a failing ballast would complicate things. YMMV

I would get some led drivers in there and driverless led tubes, personally, instead of wiring the tombstones with 120v.

The LED driver will wire up just like a standard ballast. hot and neutral wires plus a red or yellow that will go to both tombstones on one side and 2 blues that’ll individually go to the tombstones on the other side.

We switched out all of our flourescent lights over to LED a couple of years ago using the old fixture. I highly recommend it.

Thanks for everyone's input. I am unfamiliar with LED drivers. I ended up going to an electrical supply company and ordered some 24" style B light tubes. I spoke with the counter person there. He said wiring the hot to one side of the tombstone, and the neutral to the other side would be fine, as long as the opposite sides of the bulbs are held by un shunted holders. Now I need to remove the ballasts((transformers?) and the starters.

I replaced the old fluorescent light in my closet with a new Led fixture a couple of years ago. The only issue was that there wasn't an electrical box in the ceiling to attach it to. The electrician installed it easily, and I love the updated look.
