Do not do any fingeprint resistant anything. Or Frigidaire. Fingerprint resistant is just low quality metal with a clear coat that scratches and rusts. And there is nothing professional about anything Frigidaire.

A Frigidaire convection/microwave we once had started arcing about a day or two after the warranty expired and, we figured, not worth the cost of repair. In general, a noisy, less-than-quality appliance overall.

I want to echo the comment about “fingerprint-resistant stainless steel”. There have been a number of posts on this forum about problems with that finish - streaking, staining, drips that somehow become permanent - and no help from the manufacturers on this because it’s a cosmetic issue and outside the warranties. The concept sounds great - to have a fingerprint resistant surface - but the reality is a lot of problems. So regardless of brand, I would avoid any appliance with fingerprint-resistant stainless steel. Get regular stainless steel instead.

IMO plain old stainless is still the best for appliances I have all stainless fridgedaire F/F columns with buitlin kit also stainless range and I run a catering biz from . At the end of the day a microfiber cloth some hot water a bit of vinegar takes care of all of those in a few minutes and they look like new. I have sealed burners on my range but I do the grates in my DW when they get gross. Wipe all stainless in the direction of the grain forget stainless polishes just that microfiber cloth I wash mine by had and hang to drt so there is no chance it gets someting on it that keeps it from working properly . BTW my fridgedaire F/ F are 16 yrs old and not one single issue they are the commercial line so no pretty stuff inside but the function is IMO what you want. My range is Bertazzoni not Fridgedaire .

We had a basic Frigidaire range with the enamel top. In two years it was bubbling up and permanently marred. I'm going with another brand and a stainless cooktop. I will minimize scratching by the products I use to clean it.

I had terrible problems with water spots and fingerprinting on a Bosch dishwasher, tried a bunch of the cleaning methods listed online with no change until I used Barkeepers Friend, which worked beautifully. Two months later the dishwasher is still gleaming.

Gas ranges are still a bear to clean. I am a fan of electric smooth top because it's easy to clean, but the induction cootop looks like a nice compromise.

I currently have a Frigidaire cooktop and it works well and cleans easily. It is not the stainless steel one - it’s black enamel. My previous house had the Frigidaire 40” double oven, 5 burner cooktop and it was very easy to keep clean. The self-cleaning oven worked very well. My previous Frigidaire refrigerator (36”, bottom freezer, single door) also lasted till we sold that house.

Every appliance manufacturer has good and not-so-good products. But overall, I know more people who dislike their stainless cooktop, whether it’s alone or part of a range, than the enameled ones.

@Jenny - Our new Bosch dishwasher cleans very well with a standard microfiber cloth. And yes, the fingerprints are obvious and terrible, but I was advised to just wipe it with a wet microfiber cloth. It absolutely takes them off.

Mine is maybe six years old, maybe the finish has improved, as microfiber cloth had no impact on mine.

Wow… there’s LOTS of interesting information in these posts!!! I originally had a CAFE and CAFE microwave on hold but it was not fingerprint resistant and it looked pretty messy at the store so I chose to let it go.
I also saw a GE Profile… which IS fingerprint resistant at a scratch and dent place and there were a LOT of them and they were quite scratched up.
I really am NOT a professional cook and I do have a working stove in the meantime, I just LIKE the industrial look rather than the curved handles(but I am sure that I will be happy either way).
If anyone wants to give me their top three suggestions for a slide in gas stove… I would love to hear them.

May I suggest you state a budget when asking for your top three, unless you're fine with $10,000 ranges.

Jenny there are some things you need to know about microfiber the most important is never use fabric softener when washing or drying it ruins the cloth for thepupose it was intened . I use them for all my cleaning different colors for different purposes they do a fab job on windows too

I was also told that I can put the microfiber cloth in the washing machine but NOT the dryer as it ruins the cloth. Since they are so inexpensive, maybe try a new cloth in your DW.

And I’m sure the finishes on appliances keep getting better and better. The Bosch is our newest and is definitely the easiest to keep fingerprints off of.

Sorry for the delay in my responses…. Christmas got busy, then had to pack and now we’re on the road.
I would be fine with a range up to $3500 and I like the idea of three grate on top ( less heavy for cleaning).
I like the sleek look of the flat front microwaves, like the Frigidaire but I heard that the heavier doors can cause problems down the road.

Any plain stainless anything becomes "fingerprint resistant" when treated with the good old fashioned Pledge in the brown and yellow can. Coat it down good, and polish into the grain with a microfiber, and all you need to do is a bare swipe during the week. Repeat every 7-14 days, depending on use and the inability of people to actually use the handles.

I have not found stainless steel to show fingerprints more than any other material. (I do not have any stainless that is "fingerprint resistant". I don't think you need to look for that.
