Help with ideas for this sunken fireplace

My family moved into this house a few months ago, and it has this sunken stone fireplace, with a sink. We need ideas on what to do with this space, it’s awkward, but we don’t think we could level it because of how low the fireplace is compared to the edge. Any ideas? Just something to elevate the look of the space, thanks!

Sometimes odd is interesting but to me this setup is just odd:) The fireplace looks like it could be a wood stove insert put into a bigger original firebox, if thats so it could be raised a little and you could level the floor.

Leveling the floor, removing the sink and the track light above it, filling in the small black hole next to fireplace with stone from floor and painting the window frame gray to blend in. Thats what I would do or any of the above.
