Did you get rid of a granite countertop during your remodel?

I'm thinking that a lot of us extravagant new worlders throw away perfectly good granite or marble countertops during a remodel simply because we wanted something different. I'm thinking about starting some kind of Granite Rescue operation where people can reuse countertops others have discarded. Did you discard granite countertops? Did you pay to have them hauled away?

Sold on Craig's list for pennies on the dollar. Just wanted them out of the basement where they were placed after new ones were installed.
I think the key here is developing a partnership with local counter top installer who work with these daly. Perhaps a % can be shared with them.
