The two columns in front of the door make it feel unnecessarily crowded, to me. And you're blocking your big window. What were your goals here??

Where should I place them .. I wanted to open the door / steps area make it more open .. I didn't want to block the night window ..

The steps are there as well but they are centered with the door . I can try that .. I think the reason why I didn't was my porch swing but I probably should have just taken it down .. I love my swing

Those white one in the pics you posted are like the ones we purchased but I stained them ... I could change them

Unless you plan to change your siding color in the near future I’d paint them white so they stand out better. You can leave with them stained and see how you feel about them.

I was thinking that the brown would make the color stand out ..I will add some other decor to accent with the brown .. I was going to do shutters that color but I could just paint them ..

I always second guess myself I thought the would look wood make it pop but you know I'm no professional lol just trying to improve the best I can but making alot of mistakes unfortunately live & learn.. The white would probably make it stand out better for sure ..

Unfortunately I'm not able to change the siding right now but would love too ..I painted that brick ..it brightened it up alot .. those pic are kind of dark for some reasons

I would get rid of the shutters. I think where you have the brown posts located is fine. You just need some landscaping. I like the brown posts.

I think you have a MCM home and you are trying to make it something else . That is never a good idea and those shutters have to go they do not ever belong on those windows . Do you need another post for structural issues ? If not no more posts. Painting brick is almost always a bad idea and why can't you paint the siding ? Get rid of the curves and embrace the home you have . This is a wonderful way to handle the exterior and the landscaping of a MCM home now that you apinted the brick you might as well go full on MCM

Keep the columns brown for now and add a third one. I would suggest landscaping around the house now and adding some decor on the porch. Painting the brick was a good call!

Your house is very cute, the new steps look great. The two brown posts look fine and if changing it means losing your swing, I would leave them, as is, unless you need something for structural integrity. You could add a third post on the other side of the door if you want, which wouldn't affect the swing.

Like others have said, adding landscaping will really improve the look of things and your eyes will be drawn there. You could put some large pots on the porch and plant vines to climb the posts, which will look nice from the yard and also from inside the house. These are clematis; beautiful blooms, a few are evergreen, won't hurt the wood.
