Are the 2 brown posts evenly placed across the length of the porch? The one on the right looks too far right?

The posts look undersized to me. I think I would make them maybe twice as thick and stick with just two. Instead of brown or white, could they be same color as your siding?

The brown post are spaced between the windows.. I think the whole porch is 23 feet but you have that big window ..the side of door is not even

. The brown post I just stained them I'm but I could change the color .. I was going to add new wood look shutters the same color?

The brown post are much bigger then the white ones.. the post are 9 feet from left of door to first post then 9 feet to second post then by the swing its 5 feet ..

The post are not wood they are made to look like it & are weather proof ,rot proof I stained them when I got them ..

If the posts are the same color as the house, they will be less noticeable. The placement of your door and wide set of windows makes it really hard to set your posts without blocking either, so I’d just measure the length of the porch and set 2 posts at even distances. 23’ divided into thirds is 7’ - 8’ so I’d set posts 7’ in from each end and call it good.

I’m not a fan of fake shutters.

edited to add - yes, I can see the brown posts are an improvement over the white ones in size. The white ones gave a toothpick appearance. The brown ones are better but even beefier would be better yet.

What shutters do u like ? The ones I would be getting is the same material as the post you can not tell they are not wood they don't look fake at all.. they will last many years . I'm open to ideas we are getting a new door .. I was going to put the shutters the same as the post .. The door is Dutchtile blue and shutters right now .. The new door I would paint it Dutch tile Blue & we are adding a glass full length on outside.. I have not made the best choices so I have to kind of fix what I have to work with with the funds I have to work with.. Thank you for your help I appreciate your feed back .. We will be doing landscaping this spring we just put the sidewalk in a steps we did the work ourselves so it has taken alot of time .. The porch on inside was a orange brick I painted it as close as I could to the siding color I have some touch ups to do from the concrete work we did..

Unfortunately I can't change the post because we just bought and paid for them and my husband's not going for it lol so I have to live with that I thought that size was going to be enough.. I see what your saying though for sure.. He's not happy about having to move the post again ..

Based on the original posts they look more decorative vs functional. i might investigate whether you need the posts at all. I do think it would look better without them,. as for shutters id remove them completely. they don't work with the style of house and windows.

Agree with no shutters as they do not suit your house. I also think removing the posts (if not structural) would be more flattering to your home. Focus on some fantastic landscaping and your home will be lovely.

Shutters should be sized to cover the windows when closed over them. Therefore, shutters mounted on double or triple windows are obviously fake.

That many white posts on an overhang that needs almost none looks ridiculous.

This is a lovely simple ranch that doesn't require shutters which are not appropriate for this style of home.

The home could be a show-stopper with some textured landscape. I just threw in a couple of shrubs to illustrate that you don't miss the shutters when the landscape goes in.

Thank you so much ,that looks amazing.. great ideas .. There were others on here that were saying the shutters needed to go .. unfortunately the steps are round we just poured them .. We did that concrete ourselves and we aren't professionals we have to wait to seal it so it doesn't look the best in the pic I posted its too cold to seal the concrete & steps... What color would you paint the porch floor and steps along with the bottom right under ? I see you have it all the same .. I painted it the same as the house .. I thought made it look bigger .. it did really brighten things up alot.. It was hard to match up the siding when I painted the inside of that porch because the sun has faded it over time so certain spots don't look the same so I did my best .. would you put to post where you have them in the pic? Or take them out all together? My installer said he didn't think it was load bearing but would need an engineer to confirm and safe to have a couple .. I appreciate all your help this has been so stressful we are just doing small things to try to improve the home if we had the funds we would get rid of the siding but unfortunately we don't... Your pic really helps Visually & really got my hubby on board so thank you

The white post were here when we bought the home and I'm not sure why they had so many because they look horrible I agree totally..
