Multiple sources have light European Oak is various tones. This species is different than North American Alba white oak. It doesn't have the open grain and is less yellow. Monarch Plank is a source. Unfinished Prime grade.

Finished.

Rustic grade. Flat cut is possible because this species doesn't have open grain.

Flooret has Swedish made Silvan.

Another source specifying Western European Oak. Courchevel - Forestry Timber

Different species of oak are harvested as you move across Europe and into Russia. Since the flooring in made generally in Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia and China, tracking the species can be worthwhile.

Cicerone Lager is White Oak with a natural finish. I truly believe it's a good starting point for your search. Once you have a good understanding of natural white oak flooring, it will make it easier to comprehend other white oak floors with neutral finishing.

Thanks all for the info— in response to unique wood floors’ comment, is it because of how yellow the natural white oak floors tend to be, that’s likely why it’s difficult to find the lighter colored white oak prefinished floors that dont pull pink hues and/or yellow hues?

What you mentioned is largely accurate. Wood floor mills have made significant strides in eliminating red and yellow tones in white oak flooring through various wood finishing techniques such as fuming, white-washing, bleaching, reactive staining, etc. For instance, Cicerone Pilsner is a white oiled version of Lager.

Thank you for the additional information…my problem i seem to run into, is that i will find a sample that looks awesome, but then the box that i order of the same will give off yellow and/or pink hues that werent there in the sample. is that because the samples are most liiely older and have changed in color slightly? I am just wondering if I am searching for something that doesnt exist in natural wood floors ….

A Sample is chosen to show what will sell the most flooring.

So the sample will usually always look better than the “real” floor typically?

I would describe EU White Oak as a species with high variation, showcasing numerous natural characteristics. While you might appreciate the tone, hues, and grain patterns on a small sample, some boards of natural red and yellow hues may show in a full box. Wood flooring may not be something you want to scrutinize up close. However, there's a good chance that you'll rediscover your liking for it once it's installed and the rooms are decorated.

Do you mean LVP and not engineered?

elcieg, engineered hardwood planks come in in a long rectangular box when i order a whole box to see what it looks like on a larger scale.

unique wood floors, thank you for the thoughtful response — i think you just hit the nail on the head! i think i need to recognize the fact that white oak will still have some pinkish and yellow hues, because thats what it looks like naturally…and i do like the natural wood look…so it sounds like i’ll just need to get on board with seeing some pinkish hues in different lighting at times. My prefence would be more of an off-white/light light tan with the grayish wood grain patterns and knots. but the best ive gotten is more of a light yellow, sometimes pinkish witu the grayish lines/knots. but on a larger scale, when not critiquing it, im sure it will look very nice . thank you all for your help!

marissa, I got mine from Calif Classics, Mediterranean line. they have about 16 diff colors. mine is granville. it's pretty neutral. they are a wide plank. wire brushed, french oak. I love them. they clean up w/no problem
