First of the 2024 Resolutions completed!

I started this Elizabeth Hartman "Dinosaurs" quilt last fall for my dearest friend's second grandson who was due January 7. This was the first of my 2024 quilting resolutions and it was completed this evening! Hatch arrived January 9 and his big brother & mom and dad love him. I will mail it off on Tuesday (weather permitting!). It finished 44" x 52" - I improvised a bit on the pattern to get to the size I wanted but I have to tell you, 37 pages of instructions!!! All of the dinosaurs came from my stash and each dinosaur block had over 35 pieces each! I used a light gray for the background was thrilled when I found the backing fabric, too. Now on to goal #2. Thank you, Theresa, for getting me started this year!

Sue, i loved your quilt so much that when I went to my wonderful LQS down here and saw the pattern, i bought it Can’t wait to start it.

Sue, that’s a fantastic quilt!! Was it all pieced? Thirty-seven pages of instructions!! Templates too? Don’t you just love it when you find the perfect backing! You did a wonderful job. I hope your friend appreciates the work that went into that quilt. Kudos to you.

Lois - no templates. There is a picture with pieces A-Z, then AA-II - many of them 1" x 1" or 1" x 1-1/2". It had lots of pictures of which pieces to sew together and in what order. Needless to say, I had a hard time keeping track of all the TINY pieces but was happy with the finished product. I must be nuts because I just ordered and got "FAB FARM" by Elizabeth Hartman for the little girl quilt I need to make for a March baby!! The pattern does come in 2 sizes, but it's 27 pages long.

I really admire people who can deal with that much detail. I think I was behind the door when they passed out that gene.

That's great, Lois! I'm sure you will have fun. I changed mine from the pattern to make it work for the size I wanted, but I think that is part of the beauty of quilting. I used LOTS of my stash fabric. Have fun!
